This site is dedicated to those who are wondering and want to know about the dangers of MySpace and posting personal information online. It was inspired by Dateline on NBC and their multiple part series, To Catch a Predator that aired in April-May 2006. If you find this site useful, I encourage you to pass it on to others and help spread the word.
It is my hope that weekly I can provide information on how to be safe on MySpace, what parents can do to ensure their children are safe on MySpace, and what can be done to MySpace in order to make it a safer community.
We are in no way affiliated, associated, endorsed, or in any way connected to MySpace, its partners, or its subsidiaries.
It took me all of 5 minutes using Google to find numerous Myspace profiles promoting gangs, various themes of violence, underage drinking, and even burlesque (pseudo-stripper) profiles. ALL PUBLIC.
The Myspace “Security Team” is just doing a real bang up job protecting our kids.
I hope they aren’t actually getting paid.
